U.S.A. 234, Singapore 45

Happy Fourth of July, U.S.A! (Sorry that this comes a day late. Or, maybe not... Maybe just a few hours late, U.S. time. :) )

As the U.S. celebrates its 234th birthday, Singapore is preparing to celebrate its 45th birthday.

Singapore was founded as a British trading colony in 1819. In 1963 it joined the Malaysian Federation. However, two years later Singapore became independent. August 9th is National Day, when Singapore celebrates its independence.

This morning, Brandon and I took a cab to Sonia's house for our Monday playgroup. Brandon was in Heaven! Sonia has two dogs. While she kept the dogs in the kitchen during the playdate, Brandon stood at the baby gate in the doorway saying, "Dog, dog, dog!" The dogs kept him quite preoccupied.

Later this afternoon, we walked to the grocery store. When we returned, there were some kids playing on the tennis courts. One of the kids had their friend's dog with them. Brandon ran around the courts chasing the balls and the dog for a while.

What an exciting day for little Brandon. Any day with dogs, fish, birds, or balls is super fantastic! :)
